Yala National Park

  • 100

Experience an extraordinary wildlife safari at Yala National Park. This biodiversity hotspot is known to be the second largest and most visited national park in the country, owing to its hundreds of species of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and fish. Among the more famous residents are the majestic Elephants, Sloth Bears, Sambars, Jackals, Spotted Deer, Peacocks, and Crocodiles. What's more, the national park is home to the highest concentration of Leopards in the entire world.

You can also enjoy camping in this natural habitat by booking a luxury tented safari camp. An appetizing BBQ dinner by the bonfire, as Langur Monkeys and Peacocks dance near the campsite, adds up to an incredible safari experience for the nature lover.

Yala National Park is best visited between the months February and July, when the water levels are quite low, thus bringing animals into the open. Opening hours are from 5.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. daily.
