Drawing many tourists to its stunning scenery, Bopath Ella is a magnificent 30-meter tall waterfall which is formed from the river, Kuru Ganga. The water cascades through a narrow gap between the rocks and then widens, resembling the shape of a Bo leaf, a scared fig, and hence its name Bopath Ella.
Like most waterfalls in the area, Bopath Ella also has several myths linked to it; one being that the waterfall is haunted, and another saying an ancient treasure trove is hidden within.
It is a treat to the everyday traveler. Ample parking space is available at the car park, from where you need to walk a distance to reach the view point. A small visiting fee needs to be paid. The waterfall can be viewed from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
