Jetavanarama Museum

The collection of black and white photos will help you picture the state of the massive Jetavanarama Dagoba that was when it was rediscovered. The artifacts are categorised to three main galleries of stone artifacts, jewelries and relics, and local and foreign pottery. A perfectly carved urinal, punkalas, and the jewelries are among the highlights.

The colonial British building building in 1937, provides an elegant atmosphere for the artifacts it houses.

The museum is open from 7:00AM to 5:00 PM everyday.

It is best to visit in the day to avoid the sun and save your evenings and mornings to visit the ancient city.
