These spice gardens offer tours (mostly free) with English speaking guides. They will walk you through the Sri Lankan spices and plants like cinnamon, pepper, cardamom, cloves, coriander, nutmeg, varieties of pineapples, cocoa pods, sandalwood trees. There are spice products available to buy in these gardens, which can be overly priced most of the time. Bear in mind that many tourists experience this being a tourist trap where they are forced to buy things which they don’t want, and the drivers make an extra tip from the spice garden for introducing them. However if you are keen on Sri Lankan prices, it's worth a visit and politely decline the massage services or the products offered, but pay a tip for the guide as the price for the tour.
