With the largest concentration of endemic flora and fauna in the country, Sri Lanka's rainforests now occupy just 2% of the land area, down from the previous 26%. Sinharaja Forest Reserve is the largest lowland rainforest in Sri Lanka, and has been declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The Peak Wilderness Sanctuary, and Knuckles are two of the others.
