Bomburu Ella is a magnificent waterfall located about fifteen kilometers away from the Welimada town. Sourced from the Uma Oya, Bomburu Ella is a collection of smaller falls, falling down from a massive cliff making it the widest waterfall in the island. It was also known as the Perewella. From Welimada it takes about 20 minutes to reach the waterfall, and there is about a 3 kilometer walk. There is a narrow footpath through the village which is the easier route to the fall. Be sure to carry leech protection.
