Maskeliya Reservoir, a gravity dam holding waters of the Maskeliya Oya. From the opposite side two magnificent waterfalls named Gartmore & Moray feed water to the reservoir. With its neighbour the Castlereigh Dam it sits at the highest point of the Laxapana Hydropower Complex. Penstoks connected to the Maskeliya Reservoir carry water to Canyon Hydroelectric Power Station and produce 60-megawatts of electricity.
