Olu Ella

Bearing a striking similarity to the Olu flower, the steep waterfall cascades down a dramatic 127 meters as it falls into 4 segments. Olu Ella is Sri Lanka’s 6th tallest waterfall, and naturally, the tallest in Kegalle. Visitors can get a better view of the spectacular waterfall by using the ancient wooden bridge built across the river. It was used during the colonial era to transport tea leaves, and is now the country’s oldest wooden bridge in use. Leeches are plentiful, so some salt or leech-protection socks would be ideal to bring along.
