Dewanagala Rajamaha Viharaya

King Valagamba, like many other kings of old, made attempts to encourage Buddhism by erecting several temples around Sri Lanka. One such glorious temple is the Dewanagala Rajamaha Viharaya, which is located on the Devanagala Rock. The arduous climb to the top takes approximately 1 hour, but the aesthetic experience is well worth the effort.
