Barandi Kovil

The last surviving monument from the Seethawake era is this magnificent Hindu temple in Kegalle. A ravishing spectacle, though partially ruined during the colonial period, is its intricate stone work of pillars, railings and elegant carvings. Established during the period of King Seethawaka Rajasinghe, Barandi Kovil was dedicated to God Bhairava.
